Terms of Use
These terms apply to the Personal Black Book iPhone app ("the app", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. What the app does
Personal Black Book is a personal record-keeping tool. It helps you remember the things you own, the people and places you lend them to, and how many each one has. The app is only a reminder: it does not track, locate, insure or recover your belongings, and it does not contact the people on your list.
2. Your account
- You need an account with a valid email address to use the app.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission.
3. One-time purchase
- Full use of the app requires a one-time in-app purchase. The price is shown in the app before you buy.
- It is not a subscription: you pay once and are not charged again.
- The purchase is made through Apple and is tied to your Apple ID. Use Restore Purchases in the app to unlock it again on a new device or account.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.
4. Your content
You own the information you enter, such as item names, notes and the people and places on your list. You give us permission to store and process it only so the app can work for you. You are responsible for the information you enter, including details about other people. Only add information you have a reasonable right to keep for personal use.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use the app to break the law, to harass or harm anyone, to store information you have no right to keep, or to try to access other people's accounts or interfere with the service.
6. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your list and cannot be undone. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the app available and your data safe, but we can't promise the app will always be available or free of errors. We may update or change features over time. Keep your own notes of anything critical.
8. Disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not responsible for lost, damaged or unreturned belongings, or for disagreements between you and the people on your list.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data or property, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
10. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will let you know in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
